Rescue Scottie to the Rescue

Featured: Golden Gate Scottish Terrier alumni Bennett (left) saves paternal brother's life by donating stem cells needed to perform a hematologic stem cell transplant (HSCT).

Brothers on paper become brothers forever, inextricably tied together by a common bond: the exact same immune system.

Ladies and gentlemen, we give you Bennett (left) and Wall-E (right). Bennett is a Golden Gate Scottish Terrier Rescue alumni, saving Wall-E’s life by generously donating some of his own stem cells needed by Wall-E to complete a bone marrow transplant that he desperately needs to escape the clutches of B-cell lymphoma. Without Bennett’s help, Wall-E would be facing certain death.

What Bennett and Wall-E are doing is much bigger than the two of them and through this treatment, we hope to not only save Wall-E’s life, but with what we learn from the procedures over the next several days, save so many other scottie lives in the future. Long live scotties and long live all dogs. I look forward to the day when owners and their best friends do not have to suffer from this horrible disease.

It’s time to go to work.
